This year, Afea Care Services is marking 15 years of caring, supporting and empowering our local community.

2008
After a string of unrewarding jobs, Esha Oberoi fell into support work in her early 20s.
Esha felt a deep connection with her clients, noticing they were feeling the same isolation she had felt through her teenage years. She quickly noticed some of them didn’t require round the clock care and could have remained living at home.
That’s when she decided to do something about it. At age 24, Esha founded Afea Care Services.
“Afea” is an acronym of her immediate family’s names: her father Anurag, sister Freya, herself Esha and mother Anju.
Anju joined Afea as its first staff member.
2010
We invested the first $80,000 of our earnings to launch the Afea Business Management System, moving from Excel worksheets to tech-supported rostering and service.
2011
We achieved ISO 9001 Quality Management System certification, proving that we provide services that meet strict quality management standards. Find out more.
2013
The team kept growing and we moved into a new office in North Sydney.
2014
We were a Telstra Business Awards Small Business Finalist.
2016
NDIS is rolled out nationally; Afea transitions from a care agency to a direct care services provider.
2017
We onboarded our first 50 NDIS Clients at the start of the year. We moved from North Sydney to our Chatswood office in November.
2018
Afea Online Client Portal and Carers Mobile App launched.
2019
We are now a registered NDIS provider for three new services: Supported Independent Living, Support Coordination and Plan Management.
2021
We opened two new hubs in Liverpool and Parramatta, bringing our services closer than ever to our clients in western Sydney.
Afea was named Employer of Choice for Sydney Metro by Business NSW.
We were recognised as one of Australia and New Zealand’s Best Places to Work by Australian Financial Review (AFR), ranking #3 on the Health list.
Afea ranked #94 on the AFR Fast 100 Companies List. The list ranked organisations across Australia that have shown the most growth over the past three financial years.
2022
We turned our Parramatta hub into our new headquarters.
We opened new SIL and SDA homes in Penrith and Jordan Springs.
For the second year in a row, Afea was #3 for Health on the Best Places to Work list.
We were named Outstanding Employer of Choice at the Western Sydney Awards for Business Excellence (WSABE).
2023 – Afea celebrates 15 years of service!
