R U OK? đź’›
Today is a reminder to ask, “are you OK?” whenever we spot signs that someone may be struggling with life.
This R U OK Day, we dressed up in shades of yellow and participated in a friendly morning tea bake-off.
What better way to start a life-saving conversation than over a coffee or cuppa and delicious homemade pastries?
Afeans were each handed a chip to drop in a jar of their pastry of choice, and our Intake Officer Mai’s amazing mooncakes reigned supreme!
As this year’s theme is I’m here to hear, we played a game wherein we read random words, with the person genuinely listening and able to recall the greatest number of words winning a special prize. Congratulations to the People & Culture duo, Krishna and Ali!
But we know life is not all fun and games. At Afea, staff, carers and their immediate family have access to various mental health support, including Leora. Leora is a chatbot available 24/7 and can conduct mental health triage by guiding users through clinically validated assessments and self-help tools. Leora can also assist in booking sessions with the platform’s network of therapists.
Take some time today to let the people you care about know that you’re here, and you’re here to really hear them.
