Our Brand Evolution - Afea Care Services

From October 2024, Afea Care Services will be known as Leora Healthcare.

This rebrand is the start of an exciting new chapter in our 16-year journey, and an evolution of the compassionate care we’ve been providing to the community.

Our rebranding to Leora Healthcare represents more than just a change in name.

It’s a bold declaration of our commitment to provide the best quality healthcare for every body and every mind.

Leora Healthcare will unite our services under one cohesive brand, encompassing three main divisions: Disability, Aged Care and Mental Health.

Afea has been a symbol of compassion and dedication in the community since 2008, and it is with this same spirit that we embrace our new identity as Leora Healthcare.

Our Story: Afea and Leora

We were founded in 2008 by our Founder and Co-CEO Esha Oberoi.

As she scaled Afea as a disability and aged care service, she saw the challenges her staff and clients faced in accessing timely mental health support. To address this urgent need, she founded and launched Leora AI, an AI-driven platform and mental health service.

We are now faced with an opportunity to unite Afea Care Services and Leora AI under one iconic brand. A refreshed brand that will better differentiate us and align with our long-term vision to provide innovative and comprehensive healthcare services.

Developing the Brand

We took a collaborative approach to brand development.

It was a months-long, comprehensive process that included market research to understand industry trends and the public perception of both the current Afea and Leora AI brands.

We held surveys, in-person workshops and lots and lots of conversations with our staff, clients, carers and Board of Directors, as well as trusted industry experts, to gather valuable feedback and insights.

This rebrand is our opportunity to establish a strong, memorable brand that embodies modern healthcare.

At the core of our brand evolution, we honour Afea’s rich legacy of supporting the vulnerable community for over 16 years. Afea laid the foundation for empowerment, but Leora elevates this ethos to a modern vision that embraces the connection between physical and mental healthcare.

Why the rebrand?

Afea Care Services is rebranding to Leora Healthcare to reflect our transition to a group structure. It’s an opportunity for us to bring together our three main divisions – NDIS/Disability Care, Aged Care and Mental Health – under one strong, memorable and unified brand. Leora Healthcare has the potential to be iconic nationwide and to be the embodiment of innovative healthcare.

When will the change to Leora Healthcare take place?

The change will take place in stages from October 2024. From 8 October 2024, our email addresses will change from @afea.com.au to @leorahealth.com.au.

From that date, you’ll see our rebrand to Leora Healthcare in stages, with our new website, new brand colours in marketing collateral, refreshed client and carer portals, and renamed social media handles, among others.

Our new website with a new URL will go live by the end of October. We will communicate this with you closer to the date. This means that for Plan Management clients, you’ll see the URL of your Plan Management portal change from pmportal.afea.com.au to pmportal.leorahealth.com.au. We will let you know ahead of time exactly when this change will occur in October 2024.

Will your contact details change?

Our phone number 1300 65 11 33 will remain the same.

From 8 October, our email addresses will change from @afea.com.au to @leorahealth.com.au. However, our Afea email addresses will remain active and will auto-forward emails to the new Leora email addresses in the months to come. This ensures that you’ll continue to reach the right person in our organisation.

If you are an Afea client, your main contact at Afea will reach out to you closer to the date to remind you of this change and their new email address.

Will the rebrand lead to any changes in Afea’s services?

No, our service offerings will not change as a result of the rebrand. In fact, our offerings will expand as Leora Healthcare will include a Mental Health division in addition to Disability (including NDIS and icare) and Aged Care.

These divisions essentially represent the existing functions of Afea Care Services and Leora AI, now unified under one umbrella group or “branded house”, allowing us to continue providing the same high-quality services with a more cohesive and recognisable brand.

Will my current services with Afea change after the rebrand?

No. If you are currently a client of Afea Care Services, your services will continue uninterrupted. However,

  • The email address of your Afea contact will change – they will reach out to you to provide you their new details. Our number 1300 65 11 33 and your contact’s extension numbers will not change.
  • The name of your provider in your invoices will change from Afea Care Services to Leora Healthcare Pty Ltd. Since the ABN will remain the same (93 118 260 156), you will not need to re-sign any existing service agreements. Upon renewal of services after October 2024, your service agreement and relevant documents from us will carry the new company name.

I am a support worker for Afea. Will the rebrand affect my employment?

If you are currently employed by Afea Care Services, either as a support worker or office staff member, the name of your employer will change to Leora Healthcare Pty Ltd. Since the ABN will remain the same (93 118 260 156), there is no need to re-sign any employment documents.

Your role and responsibilities will also not be impacted. There may be some changes to the URL of files, web pages and apps you frequently access. However, these changes will not affect your day-to-day activities or your overall role within the organisation.

Will there be any events to celebrate the rebrand?

There will be events and initiatives to celebrate Afea’s rebrand! We are planning a launch party with our staff, clients, carers and key alliances. Stay tuned for more information.
