On this festival of lights, we’re grateful for the chance to celebrate this day with amazing food, free henna tattoos and each other’s company!
Some of our carers and clients also attended the special event, lighting up our Parramatta office with their laughter and stories.
Our Founder, Esha Oberoi, led the lighting of the diyas (lamps) and spoke about the importance of Diwali and finding peace within ourselves – a smaller but more personal version of the victory of light over dark.
In her words: “Friction is internal, but peace is also internal.”
Joseph Assad, Head of People & Culture, said our Diwali celebration exemplifies our commitment to diversity and inclusion.
“For me, diversity and inclusion is like a puzzle. Pieces of a puzzle come in various shapes, sizes, colours and connect together in distinctive ways. But once the puzzle is complete, it forms an inclusive unit.
“I see the pieces of the puzzle come together at Afea Care Services every day – never more exemplified than through our Diwali celebrations today, where we recognised the diversity of our workforce in an environment that was both harmonious and unified.
“It was a humbling experience to be involved in a celebration that is deep rooted in the culture and beliefs of many people across the world.”
May you find peace and light within you during this festival of lights!
