A Spotlight on our Support Worker, Rizford - Afea Care Services
January 20th 2023

Say hello to Rizford! Originally from the Philippines, Rizford has been enjoying his support worker role since he joined the Afea team in 2018.

Rizford

He believes his role fits his caring personality. “I’m a type of person who really enjoys making other people happy,” he says. “That’s why I believe I’m well-suited to being a carer. As a husband and father of two children, I’m very happy with caring for my family, and even happier when I’m able to extend care or help to others like my clients.”

In addition to being an amazing support worker, Rizford also makes dessert that is the life of the party. “One fun fact about me is that most of the people who have tasted the fruit salad I make say that they really like it!”

Thanks for your time Rizford, and we can’t wait to try your dessert at the next Afea potluck!

Keep reading to learn more about him.

When did you first join Afea as a carer?

I joined Afea as a carer in February 2018.

What led you to Afea?

Afea was recommended to me by my wife’s friend.

Do you have previous experience working with aged care/the NDIS?

My previous experience working in the aged care and NDIS sector was when I did my work placement for my Individual Support Certification III course.

What is your proudest moment at Afea as a carer?

My proudest moment was when Afea provided commendation in recognition of my hard work, thanks to the positive feedback of my clients and for being available for services most of the time.

What do you like best about the company?

I greatly appreciate the friendliness of the coordinators and other carers whom I work with, as well as our founder Esha Oberoi who is very approachable and helpful.

I’m also very grateful to Afea for giving me the opportunity to work as a carer and letting me gain more knowledge and experience with my field of work.

The support and encouragement I’ve gotten from the company and staff have been instrumental for me to make a positive impact at our workplace as well as with my relationship with our clients.

I am also very grateful to my clients who are very appreciative of my work and have provided good feedback. It has been always a great pleasure to work with them.
