Meet Kirti, Afea Client Coordinator - Afea Care Services
June 26th 2023

Meet Kirti! Our Client Coordinator previously worked for an Out of Hospital Care provider before transitioning to the NDIS and aged care space.

While Out of Hospital Care is a short-term service, Afea’s home and community care services can support clients for years. Kirti appreciates this aspect of her role: “I find that my role now provides me that continuity of care and connection with the clients that I am supporting.”

From OHC to NDIS and HCP

At the Afea headquarters

I used to be an Intake Coordinator with an Out of Hospital Care (OHC) provider. Out of Hospital Care is basically a short-term service whereas the NDIS and Home Care Packages are longer-term services that continue to provide support for people at home.

I find that I really enjoy supporting those clients who need longer-term care because sometimes they just need to keep in touch with one single person, so I find that my role now provides me that continuity of care and connection with the clients that I am supporting currently.

Genuine Care

Kirti’s netball team

Whether it’s a support worker or someone in the office – a Team Leader, a manager, a Services Manager or someone from the ELT [Executive Leadership Team], everybody has this genuine feeling of caring, not just for our clients but for the staff and the support workers.

You don’t come across that in every workplace and it’s something that makes coming to the office and working with these people so enjoyable.

‘If I could have one superpower…’

Flying high in Bali

If I could have one superpower, I would choose to clone myself. So, I could have one me at work, one me doing something personal in the bank, maybe, even attending exercises for me, if I could.

Outside of work, I love staying healthy and fit. I actually play netball once a week on Mondays.

I think I had the best trip of my life when I went to Bali. It was just a six-day short trip, but explored for two days and the rest of the time was spent just relaxing and eating all the food that I could – best thing ever.
