When did you first join Afea?

I joined Afea in April 2021.

Why did you choose to become a Support Coordinator?

I transitioned into the support coordinator role in June 2022. Before transitioning, I have been working as a Care Coordinator for Afea for 14 months.

I chose to become a Support Coordinator because I always saw myself growing within this industry, and I loved that support coordination explored a participant’s whole NDIS plan. I want to be able to assist participants in maximising their NDIS plans and to see them achieve their goals.

Support coordination allows you to gain knowledge and perspective, and to use this expertise to present options to participants to improve their quality of life, giving them choice and control and helping them gain independence. I love what the role of a support coordinator can achieve for NDIS participants and how beneficial and life changing it can be for them and their families. I love that you are faced with new challenges each day, and that there is always something new to learn!

How did you find out about Afea? Why did you choose to join Afea?

I found out about Afea through research when I was looking to join a company within the industry. I chose to join Afea as the values truly stood out to me and I felt that it was a company where I would be able to grow. The staff were all very welcoming and supportive.

What’s the best thing about Afea?

It would have to be the support you receive from the employees. I love that Afea is flexible and understanding, and that the company’s purpose is truly rewarding and something that aligns with my personal values.

What is your proudest moment at Afea?

My proudest moment at Afea would have to be transitioning into the support coordination role. I felt ready to make a change, and I am grateful I get to fulfil the role with such a great company.

And now for the Fun Round…

If you could have one superpower, what would it be?

To be able to fly, or to be invisible!

What is your favourite dessert?

Sticky date pudding and creme brulee. (I can’t choose just one!)

What is the best place you ever travelled to?

The beautiful Islands in Greece. Mykonos, Paros, Ios, and Santorini – absolutely breathtaking!
