Tell us about your background – why did you choose to work in this industry, specifically in Quality & Risk?
I have been in the risk and compliance space for about three years now. I was in the pharmaceutical industry for three years before this. I am due to finish my law degree this year and hope to practice in the future!
I enjoy a holistic and reasonable approach to issues, and being in Quality and Risk allows me to apply this outlook across the whole organization. I enjoy collaborating with everyone.
How did you find out about Afea? Why did you choose to join Afea?
I was headhunted by our magnificent recruiter, Ali. I remember my interview with our CEO Gaurav very clearly. I was pleasantly surprised how down to earth and genuine he was and his passion for the disability sector. We bonded over our shared passion for helping youth with mental health challenges.
What’s the best thing about the company?
The value of mental health and family culture. I feel comfortable with being myself and I feel like I have a voice.
What is your proudest moment at Afea?
Walking back into the office after our last audit of the year and everyone was cheering us on. We had back-to-back audits for six months with the Aged Care, ISO [International Organization for Standardization] and NDIS Commission. It was a tough period, but I felt supported the whole way through.
And now for the Fun Round…
Tell us something that most people don’t know about you
I compete as a bodybuilder and am an online coach for six females. I live by the mantra of I work to live, not live to work.
What is the best place you ever travelled to?
A small town called Miercurea Ciuc in Romania where I volunteered there for a month at an NGO. I was lucky enough to be a part of three different cultural communities and create unforgettable memories.
Do you have any pets?
I have my own dog Taya and bird called Dorian.
