Her willingness to gain a new perspective, combined with her knowledge of multiple languages and comprehensive experience in customer service, allows her to create strong bonds with others.

What led you to Afea?
I was looking for a new direction and a new role where I can apply my customer service background.
What’s the best thing about Afea?
Having a great team who has my back. Our team works together to resolve problems, engages in developmental conversations and supports you to be better at your life, not just the job!
What is your proudest moment at Afea?
When I was considered for the role of Plan Manager!
After looking at a few roles similar to my experience, I saw an Afea advert for a different role and decided to try something new. I have always been complimented on my professional phone etiquette, so whilst going through the interviews, I was answering the interview questions using my customer service career as my compass.
Just as I completed my third interview with our then CEO Esha, our recruiter at the time came back to me, asking if I would be interested in a Plan Manager role and attend one more interview, this time with Gaurav.
It was nothing like my previous roles, but it shared similarities with them, so I said yes! I didn’t need to come in for another interview and the rest is history. I have since built my knowledge and experience to be able to train new staff. It’s been challenging but I’m glad the role was offered and that I accepted.

If you could have one superpower, what would it be?
Understanding and being fluent in any language. I firmly believe communication is key to engaging and developing bonds.
Tell us something that most people don’t know about you.
I learn languages pretty quickly. I am self-taught in Tamil, Hindi, Telugu, Japanese and aim for Korean by the end of the year.
What is the best place you ever travelled to?
Japan. I started re-learning the language to understand the anime I was watching better, and the year-long study came to fruition with a solo trip to Tokyo, Osaka, Kyoto and Hiroshima. Never in my life have I been as scared and excited as I was boarding the flight!
