Appointment of Sam Kari to Afea Deputy CEO - Afea Care Services
February 23rd 2023

Afea Care Services is proud to appoint Finance Manager, Sam Kari (Hiyantha Kariyawasam), as Deputy CEO.

Sam is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and has been with Afea since 2012, joining the organisation as Accounts Officer before stepping into the role of Finance Manager in 2017.

Now as Deputy CEO, Sam will work closely with CEO Gaurav Oberoi to better support Afea’s growth in NSW and beyond.

“Since the beginning, I was given a lot of support at Afea, both in my professional and personal life,” Sam shares.

“It is my pleasure to continue working closely with our CEO, Gaurav Oberoi, to ensure Afea grows from strength to strength in the coming years.”

Strengthening Afea’s Foundations

Gaurav says the focus for Afea this year will be on “strengthening our foundations” in order to implement care governance frameworks that will enhance Afea’s quality standards, work culture and client-focused service delivery.

In 2022, Afea Founder Esha Oberoi transitioned from CEO to a Director role on the Afea Board, providing organisation oversight and strategic input.

“I am thrilled to see Sam step into this new role,” Esha says. “In his decade-long tenure, I have known Sam to be a kind and passionate individual who will go the extra mile for our staff, support workers and clients. He embodies Afea’s values completely and I’m excited to see what Afea will achieve with him at the helm.”

With Sam at his side, Gaurav will focus on the future roadmap of Afea. This includes expanding the Board of Directors to further support the organisation’s Executive Leadership Team.

“I would like to take this moment to congratulate Sam, who has been with the company for more than a decade and has played a pivotal role in our success,” he says.

“The future of Afea is brighter than ever.”

Congratulations, Sam!
