Can you tell us about yourself?
I’m a Wiradjuri woman raised in Sydney, Australia. I have a passion for gardening and cooking, especially with indigenous plants. I have a passion for style and once worked as a photographer. I have also worked on TV specials and film, and do creative work outside of my role with Afea.
What led you to Afea?
When I was working as a makeup artist, I was part of a team doing makeup for young LGBTQI people across NSW in a float at Mardi Gras. I found this a really rewarding experience, I connected with those young people and felt I helped make their Mardi Gras experience something even more special.
That connection, that feeling of helping people understand, accept and celebrate their differences really synced with me.
That really fuelled my passion for advocacy and support work, which led to my role with Afea.
What is your proudest moment at Afea as a carer?
Seeing my clients’ quality of life improve with my supports makes me exceedingly proud. Having this gift to help assist and benefit others is something I’m very proud of.
What do you like best about the company?
I think Afea’s diverse staff is an incredible representation of what Australia is really like, this makes me immensely proud to be on board.
