The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) funds access to “reasonable and necessary supports” required by an eligible participant to assist them to undertake activities that enable their social and economic involvement in the community, and work towards their goals and aspirations.

So what are the ‘reasonable and necessary supports’?

The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) funds services for people with disabilities to achieve goals and aspirations and enable social and economic involvement in the community.

So, what are some of the Core Supports that Afea can offer you?

  1. Personal Care

Under the NDIS Afea Carers can come to you in your home when you want in order to assist with daily tasks such as showering, bathing, tooth brushing, dressing and grooming. Other approved services we can offer include toileting, bowel management, assistance with mobility, and basic first aid.

  1. Nursing Care

Afea employs a number of registered nurses for more complex needs. Nursing services that can be funded under NDIS include medication administration, seizure management, tube feeding and other first aid services.

3. Transportation and Travel

Our aim is to provide independence. Afea Carers can help with transportation to and from appointments, shopping centres, community activities and social events. Our Carers can even provide public transport training to help those with a disability to get from A to B.

4. Community Participation

Afea’s mission is to Empower People. Our Carers have a goal not to work for you, but with you to achieve your goals and aspirations. We can provide company and assistance whilst shopping, going to job interviews, visits to family members, social activities and any other activity that helps improve general wellbeing.
